Learning outcomes
Understand the subject area, ethical and legal principles of professional activity. Know their rights and responsibilities as a member of a democratic society and use them in professional activities. To be able to use the basic categorical, conceptual, analytical and research apparatus of modern political science.
Apply the tools of normative and empirical political theory, political methodology, comparative and applied political science, international and global studies in professional activities.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
To know the structure and functions of the political system of society, its main institutions (state, political parties, public organizations, local governments, mass media), the laws of functioning of the system as a whole and its institutions. Based on knowledge of the political system of society, its institutions, patterns of their functioning, be able to navigate political processes and political life in Ukraine. Possess basic skills of scientific research and information management; critical attitude and forecasting of political events and phenomena; use of foreign language professional political information sources.
Course content
Constitutionalism as a theory and system of law. The Constitution of Ukraine is the main source of legal regulation of the political system of Ukraine. Constitutional principles of the constitutional order of public life. The constitutional status of man and citizen in Ukraine. Constitutional means of direct democracy in Ukraine. Constitutional and legal status of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. Constitutional and legal status of the President of Ukraine. Constitutional and legal status of executive bodies of Ukraine. Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the material learned, including assessment of theoretical training (learning outcomes - knowledge 1.1-1.6), which is 40% of the total grade, and assessment of practical training (learning outcomes - skills 2.1-2.3); assessment of communication (learning outcomes 3.1-3.3); assessment of autonomy and and responsibility (learning outcomes 4.1-4.3), which is 60% of the total assessment.
