Learning outcomes
Understand the subject area, ethical and legal principles of professional activity. To be able to use information and communication technologies in professional activities. To be able to analyze the interaction of political actors and institutions, power and governance, political systems and regimes, political
political behavior in different contexts of their functioning. Apply theories and methods of applied political science, political communications, special political science disciplines in professional activities. Design, develop a program and conduct political science research using modern methods, technologies and tools of political analysis.

Know: the state language; the situation in the field of research of political processes in Ukraine. Be able to: work with sociological methods of obtaining empirical data.
Possess: methodology of comparative sociological research; basic skills: analysis, synthesis, teamwork, organization of communication.
Course content
Social process, social change, social development: concepts and forms. Concepts of social development. Modern theories of modernization in the context of social
development. Indicators of social development: social, cultural, political. Social indicators and their transformation at different stages of social development. Analysis of the main indices of social development. Features of European countries. Conceptual framework and conceptual foundations of sociological research in European countries.
Methodological principles of comparative studies of European countries: ESS, EuroBarometer, EuropeanValue Survey and others. Sociological studies of the development of democratic systems in modern European countries. Comparative analysis of the quality of life of modern European countries: measurement methodology and comparison possibilities.Public attitudes: theoretical and methodological problems of measurement. Social discrimination, unemployment, poverty and social protection: theoretical and methodological foundations for building social indicators in comparative studies.

Assessment methods and criteria
The control of knowledge is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the material learned, in particular, the assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge 1.1 - 1.2), which accounts for 40% of the total grade, and assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skills 2.1-2.2); (communication 3.1-3.2); (autonomy and responsibility 4.1), which accounts for 60% of the total grade.
