Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before starting this course, students should know the main stages and periods of the literary and artistic process; methods and principles of philological and interdisciplinary studies of literature and art; main features of styles and directions of fiction and art. Be able to systematize literary facts and phenomena, give them an objective assessment; use literary terminology; independently analyse and research certain aspects of the literary process of the late 20th - early 21st centuries.
Course content
Purpose: study of the interaction of fiction and visual arts, which manifests itself in the phenomena of syncretism and synthesis, mutual influences of verbal and visual, in the emergence of new artistic genres. Abstract: The educational discipline "Literature in the context of visual studies" is an important development trend of intermedia studies in modern literary studies. The course is aimed at the study of modern hybrid forms of literature, relationships between various artistic phenomena, involves the use of the latest comparative approaches to the analysis of synthetic literary work. Within the discipline, the structural commonality of literature, painting, cinema, theater, multimedia space, etc. in the literary and artistic process is studied.

Answer at the seminar session, active participation in the discussion/discussion, modular control work, creative task. Lecture, seminar class, independent work.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment (80 points) is based on the points obtained by students in the 5th semester (min 48 points). The number of points depends on the completeness and correctness of the task done by a student. During the semester, assessment is carried out in accordance with the types of work and forms of control described in paragraph 7.3. of the programme. The final number of points for the discipline (maximum 100 points) is defined as the sum of points for systematic work during the semester, taking into account the final creative work. The credit is given based on the results of the student's work throughout the entire semester and does not include additional assessment measures.
