Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Knowledge of general linguistic terminology. 2. Knowledge of the basics of modern English grammar. 3. Reading, writing, listening and speaking skills at the level provided by the programme.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to teach students the basic issues of theoretical grammar, to deepen and systematize their knowledge of English; to form students' English-language communicative competence as a set of knowledge, skills and abilities that provide effective intercultural communication in oral and written forms.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Educational activities: oral and written answers, presentations, reports, home reading, listening, translation tasks, thematic tests, final test. Teaching methods: lectures, practical classes, independent work.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment. Maximum number of points for the semester - 100 points. The number of points depends on the completeness and correctness of the task done by a student. During the semester, assessment is carried out in accordance with the types of work and forms of control described in the programme. The semester assessment forms the score of the intermediate control. The topics studied in the 7th semester are submitted for the exam, which students take in the 8th semester. The obtained points are transferred in percentage (30% of the points obtained - from a maximum of 100 points - 30 points) to the formation of the total score of the discipline. There is no final assessment.
