Learning outcomes
Introduction of students to microwave technology, passive and active microwave circuit components, antenna theory and phased array principles, and practical skills in designing microwave circuits and antennas using state-of-the-art design tools.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The mathematical apparatus and physical principles underlying the discipline "Microwave Equipment and Telecommunication Antenna Systems" are based on knowledge acquired in previously studied courses such as "Higher Mathematics," "Special Topics in Higher Mathematics," "Fundamentals of Circuit Theory," and "Electrodynamics and Radio Wave Propagation." Prerequisites include knowledge of the laws governing the behavior of electrical circuits, basic types of analog electronic devices used in radio engineering, proficiency in elementary and higher mathematics, and basic skills in using mathematical software packages.
Course content
Waveguides and transmission lines. Fundamentals of transmission line theory. Telegraphic equations. Loaded transmission lines. Quarter-wave transformer. Standing wave coefficient. Introduction to impedance matrices and scattering matrices. Wilkinson divider/adder. Smith chart. Matching impedances in transmission lines. Microwave filters. Impedance of antennas. Vibratory (dipole) antennas. Horn antennas. Reflector (mirror) antennas. Microstrip antennas. Linear antenna arrays. Power amplifiers.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures - 34 hrs, practical lessons - 16 hrs, laboratory work - 10 hrs, independent work - 60 hrs, total - 120 hrs.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment is carried out by writing two test papers (up to 20 points each) and defending laboratory works (up to 20 points). The maximum number of points that can be obtained during the semester is 60 points. Final evaluation in the form of an exam - up to 40 points.
