Upon successful completion of the final certification, the graduate receives documents of the established form on awarding a bachelor's degree with the educational qualification "Bachelor of Philology" in the specialization 035.01 "Ukrainian Language and Literature".
Programme learning outcomes
PLO 1 Communicate fluently on professional matters with specialists and non-specialists in Ukrainian and English, both orally and in writing, and use these skills to facilitate effective intercultural communication. PLO 2 Work effectively with information: select necessary information from various sources, including professional literature and electronic databases; critically analyze and interpret it; organize, classify, and systematize it. PLO 3 Organize one’s own learning and self-education. PLO 4 Understand the fundamental principles of human existence, nature, and society. PLO 5 Collaborate with colleagues, representatives of other cultures and religions, and those with different political views, etc. PLO 6 Use information and communication technologies to solve complex specialized tasks and problems in professional practice. PLO 7 Understand the main problems of philology and approaches to solving them using appropriate methods and innovative approaches. PLO 8 Know and understand the system of language, the general properties of literature as the art of the word, the history of the languages and literatures being studied, and be able to apply this knowledge in professional practice. PLO 9 Characterize the dialectal and social varieties of the languages being studied and describe the sociolinguistic situation. PLO 10 Know the norms of the literary language and be able to apply them in practical work. PLO 11: Understand the principles, techniques, and methods for creating oral and written texts of various genres and styles in Ukrainian and English. PLO 12: Analyze linguistic units, identify their interactions, and characterize the linguistic phenomena and processes that underlie them. PLO 13 Analyze and interpret works of Ukrainian and foreign fiction and oral folk art, identify their specific features and place in the literary process (in accordance with the chosen specialization: “Ukrainian Language and Literature”). PLO 14 Use the languages being studied in oral and written form, across various genres, styles, and registers of communication (formal, informal, neutral), to solve communicative tasks in the everyday, social, educational, professional, and scientific spheres of life. PLO 15 Conduct linguistic, literary, and translation studies analysis of texts of various styles and genres. PLO 16 Know and understand the basic concepts, theories, and concepts of the “Ukrainian Language and Literature” specialization, and be able to apply them in professional practice. PLO 17 Collect, analyze, systematize, and interpret facts about language and speech, and use them to solve complex tasks and problems in specialized areas of professional activity or education. PLO 18 Possess the skills to manage complex activities or projects when solving complex problems in professional practice within the field of specialization “Ukrainian Language and Literature” and take responsibility for decision-making in unpredictable conditions. PLO 19 Possess the skills to participate in scientific or applied research in the field of philology. PLO 20 Perform two-way (Ukrainian-English) oral and written translation of texts. PLO 21 Be able to edit and proofread texts of various styles and genres in Ukrainian and English. PLO 22.1 Know approaches to assessing and ensuring the quality of copywriting, rewriting, and speechwriting in political discourse texts. PLO 23.1 Create, edit, and translate written and oral political discourse texts (in Ukrainian and English). PLO 22.2 Know approaches to assessing and ensuring the quality of copywriting, rewriting, and speechwriting in business discourse texts. PLO 23.2 Create, edit, and translate written and spoken texts of business discourse (in Ukrainian and English).

Forms of assessment: Current control: written tests, oral questioning, intermediate tests, essays, presentations of individual and team projects, colloquia. Final control: examinations (written, oral, mixed form, in the form of a test), tests, differentiated tests, final exams. Grading scale: Pass/fail: 60-100 Not credited: 0-59 Compliance with academic integrity by students involves: ▪️ independent performance of educational tasks, tasks of current and final control of learning outcomes; ▪️ references to sources of information when using ideas, developments, statements, information; ▪️ providing reliable information about the results of their own educational (scientific, creative) activities, research methods and sources of information. Translation and editing internships are available in the commercial, literary, publishing, and educational sectors; in print and electronic media, PR agencies; in archives, foundations, unions, humanitarian foundations, museums, art and cultural centers, NGOs, and government agencies, etc. in the humanitarian sphere; in various industries that require services in creating, editing, analyzing, and translating texts.
