Graduates who have successfully defended their qualifying project and passed a comprehensive examination are issued a standard form document which certifies they have been conferred the educational qualification: the degree of Master of Journalism. To be awarded the professional qualification “Multimedia Journalist”, a student must receive at least 75 points from the courses CC2, CC4, CC5, CC7, CC11, CC12, CC13, EC1, a comprehensive examination and defence of a qualifying project.
Programme learning outcomes
PLO-1. To analyze and summarize research findings, draw conclusions on patterns, understand and analyze the global transformations in the media industry in the context of ICT development and determine their impact on the legal aspects of media activities. PLO-2. To plan social communication research commissioned by specialized institutions, work with open information sources, fact check, conduct journalistic investigations. PLO-3. To write a review of a research article and/or an innovative project. PLO-4. To use foreign languages to promote and enhance their research and/or innovation work, work with foreign professional information sources. PLO-5. To develop a ‘roadmap’ for solving the identified problem. PLO-6. To draw conclusions about the effectiveness of the research. PLO-7. To schedule the time required to conduct research or develop an innovative project, perform tasks in professional groups. PLO-8. To identify problem areas in the activities of modern media organizations, demonstrate the essence of events and processes from the standpoint of the rule of law based on the knowledge of the legal system. PLO-9. To demonstrate the ability to find contractors for research or development of innovative projects, apply knowledge of media management and monetization to rationalize the marketing and further implementation of a media project. PLO-10.To apply specialized conceptual expertise in social communications and media law when developing an innovative project. PLO-11. To assess professional problem areas applying knowledge from a variety of subject areas to prevent potential legal risks in the work of journalists and protect journalists' rights. PLO-12. To search for the knowledge necessary to plan research, use a variety of information sources, make and submit information requests to information managers, cooperate with law enforcement and judicial bodies, representatives of international professional organizations engaged in investigative journalism and protection of journalists, interact with the audience. PLO-13. To conduct audience surveys within the planned scientific research, use a variety of media platforms and channels to effectively interact with the audience. PLO-14. To write a research article based on the results of the research of media space, outlining future perspectives for the development of the media market given the current conditions. PLO-15. To draw conclusions about the incompleteness of the research and the application of new approaches to collecting and processing information. PLO-16. To write a report on the work of the media team outlining proposals for improving professional activities, propensity for individual and team work in mainstream and convergent media. PLO-17. To do a self-analysis through writing a report on their research and/or implementation activities, use critical thinking when working with information sources individually. PLO-18. To assess the legal consequences of management decisions on the legality of the use of information resources, risks of legal actions, liability for the information dissemination. PLO-19. To apply norms in the development of regulations on the organization and economic activity of a media outlet, sign contracts with other parties of mass communication process.

Work placement
