Complete General Secondary Education: Certificate of the Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment in competitive subjects.

Qualifying examination of the undergraduates of the educational program includes the defence of a qualifying research-creation paper. Undergraduates who have successfully defended their qualifying paper are issued a standard form document which certifies they have been conferred the educational qualification: the degree of Bachelor of Journalism.

Program Learning Outcomes (determined by the Standard) PLO01. To provide knowledge-based arguments for personal workplace actions and operations. PLO02. To use program subject area knowledge to create an information product or run an information campaign. PLO03. To evaluate personal information product and information campaign which was organized and run independently or by a team. PLO04. To search, process, and analyze information from different sources. PLO05. To use modern information and communication technologies and specialized software to accomplish professional tasks. PLO06. To plan personal and team work given set objectives, limitations, and anticipated risks. PLO07. To coordinate personal task completion with that of team members. PLO08. To identify the facts, events, processes in workplace situations of which there is lack of knowledge; find ways and sources to acquire this knowledge. PLO09. To evaluate the work of team members as members of a civil society (their rights and responsibilities). PLO10. To evaluate the work of team members from the point of view of saving and multiplying social and cultural values and achievements. PLO11. To use Ukrainian fluently in professional work environment, including oral, written and e-communication. PLO12. To anticipate the reaction of the audience to an information product or information campaigns, given the principles and methods of social and communication sciences. PLO14. To generate information content on a given topic utilizing available, as well as primary sources of information. PLO15. To create a proper media product on a certain topic, given its genre, channel of transmission, and platform. PLO16. To plan personal work and the work of team members, directed at both generating information content, and creating a media product, as well as promoting it. PLO17. To publish up-to-date information about your media product on available internet platforms. PLO18. To use necessary knowledge and technologies to overcome a crisis communication situation applying tolerance, dialogue, and cooperation. PLO19. To generate information content, create media products, disseminate information about them, plan personal work and the work of team members, abiding by the rules and principles of safe media presence on cross-media platforms. PLO20. To use necessary physical skills to overcome a crisis communication situation. PLO21. To edit Ukrainian texts. PLO22. To interpret simultaneously from a foreign language into Ukrainian.

External form

Oral and written examinations, tests, differentiated tests, defences of introductory, on-the-job training, pre-diploma internship, defence of a minimum set of practical journalistic works, defence of a qualifying paper.

National Credit Mobility - standard national application. International Credit Mobility - on the general basis.

Internship - 2 year, 3 semester, November-December, 4 weeks. On-the-Job Training - 2 year, 4 semester, April-May, 8 weeks; 3 year, 6 semester, January-March, 6 weeks. Pre-diploma internship - 4 year, 8 semester, March-April, 4 weeks.

Part-time

Undergraduates of the specialty "Journalism" can work in media (print, audiovisual, electronic, online), information and analytical centers, press services of enterprises, political parties, public organizations, as journalists, commentators, correspondents, columnists, photojournalists, editors, press secretaries, etc.

Students have the opportunity to undertake further study at the second (master's) level of higher education.
